Basketball Recap: Belleville West's Win on Tuesday Extends Winning Streak to Three

Belleville West extended their winning streak to three games thanks to a huge performance from TJ Cason IV. The Maroons came within six points of losing the streak, but they secured a 49-43 W against the Collinsville Kahoks for which the team can thank Cason IV, who went 7-for-12 on his way to 18 points. He is also on a roll when it comes to three-point shooting accuracy, as he's posted one of at least 40% in the last five games he's played.

When it comes to explaining why Collinsville lost on Tuesday, don't look at Jordan Taylor. Despite the final result, he dropped a double-double with ten points and 16 boards. Deandre Brown was another key player, putting up eight points and three steals.

Belleville West's victory bumped their record up to 9-5. As for Collinsville, they have traveled a rocky road recently, having lost four of their last five matchups. That's put a noticeable dent in their 7-10 record this season.

Coincidentally, Belleville West and Collinsville will both be playing East St. Louis the next time they take the court. The Maroons will head out to face the Flyers at 7:30 p.m. on Friday, while the Kahoks will host them at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
