The Brookfield Bobcats had already won seven in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 17.9 points), and they went ahead and made it eight on Monday. They came out on top against Bethel by a score of 46-36. Despite the victory, that was the fewest points Brookfield has scored all year.
It was another big night for Shane Weber, who dropped a double-double on 25 points and ten rebounds. The game was his ninth in a row with at least ten points. The team also got some help courtesy of Brendan Longworth, who scored six points along with five rebounds and three blocks.
Brookfield pushed their record up to 8-1 with that victory, which was their fifth straight on the road. As for Bethel, their defeat dropped their record down to 2-5.
Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Brookfield will be staying on the road on Thursday to face off against Bunnell at 7:00 p.m. on January 11th. One thing working in Bunnell's favor is that they have posted big point totals in their last five matchups. As for Bethel, they will head out on the road to face off against Kolbe-Cathedral at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. Kolbe-Cathedral will be coming into the match with an undefeated record on the line.
