Harrisburg will face off against a team with plenty of momentum: La Pine extended their winning streak to three on Tuesday. The Hawks came out on top against Pleasant Hill by a score of 6-1.
The team relied heavily on Russo Wrightman, who went 2-for-4 with one stolen base, one run, and one RBI.
Meanwhile, Harrisburg came into Tuesday's matchup having lost nine straight, but that streak is now in the rearview. They walked away with a 15-12 victory over Elmira on Tuesday.
Christian Baird was incredible, getting on base in all five of his plate appearances with three stolen bases, five runs, and one triple. Those five runs gave him a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Cameron Chaney, who went a perfect 3-for-3 with three runs, one double, and one RBI.
Harrisburg was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .429. The team's really been improving in that area: they've now improved their batting average total in three consecutive games.
La Pine's win was their third straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 12-9. Those road victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 3.0 runs on average over those games. As for Harrisburg, their win was their first in the league, bumping their league record up to 1-8 and their overall record up to 7-10-1.
Everything went La Pine's way against Harrisburg in their previous meeting two weeks ago, as La Pine made off with a 14-1 victory. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Hawks since the squad won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
