Tenleigh Bockhop made a splash while hitting and pitching. She looked comfortable on the mound, not allowing a single earned run and allowing only one hit while striking out 12 over seven innings pitched. That's the most strikeouts she has posted since back in May of 2025. She was also big at the plate, going 2-for-4 with two runs.
In other batting news, Kendall Wenger was excellent, going 1-for-2 with one home run. That home run was her first of the season.
Mineral Point kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 11 hits. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now got at least ten hits in six consecutive matchups.
Meanwhile, Iowa-Grant hadn't done well against Cuba City recently (they were 2-7 in their previous nine matchups), but they didn't let the past get in their way on Monday. The Panthers came out on top against the Cubans by a score of 12-2 (the very same score they lost by in their prior game). The Panthers might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won eight contests by six runs or more this season.
Iowa-Grant got a massive performance out of Ava Klaas, who went 2-for-3 with three RBI, two runs, and one double. Another player making a difference was Pajassa Baker, who went 1-for-3 with two runs, one triple, and one stolen base.
Iowa-Grant's win bumped their record up to 13-5. As for Mineral Point, their victory bumped their record up to 21-3.
Iowa-Grant's pitching crew has a crucial task ahead of them: Mineral Point has hit smart this season, having averaged an OBP of .488. It's a different story for Iowa-Grant, though, as they've only averaged .332. Will they be able to contain Mineral Point's hitters?
Everything went Mineral Point's way against Iowa-Grant in their previous meeting back in April, as Mineral Point made off with a 7-1 win. Do the Pointers have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Panthers turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
