After two games on the road, Prairie View Academy is heading back home. The Prairie View Academy Spartans and the River Oaks Mustangs will face off at 4:00 p.m. on January 18th without much rest after finishing up games yesterday. Hopefully Prairie View Academy focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 12 last Tuesday.
Prairie View Academy scored the most points they've had all season to find success. They took down Franklin Academy 79-65. Having run the score up that high, both teams might be doing some extra defensive drills very soon.
Prairie View Academy's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Abram Anthony led the charge by dropping a double-double on 19 points and 13 rebounds. Anthony hasn't dropped below eight rebounds for five straight games. Another player making a difference was Mason Tullos, who scored 19 points along with six rebounds and five assists.
Meanwhile, River Oaks' recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Friday after their third straight loss. They fell 59-47 to West Side Christian.
Prairie View Academy's victory bumped their record up to 12-4. As for River Oaks, they have not been sharp recently, as they've lost nine of their last 12 games, which put a noticeable dent in their 10-14 record this season.
