This season hasn't been kind to the Chestertown Christian Academy Patriots, who are still winless after their fifth contest. They took a serious blow against Greenwood Mennonite on Friday, falling 59-12. Chestertown Christian Academy has not had much luck with the Flames recently, as the team's come up short the last six times they've met.
Chestertown Christian Academy's loss came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Madison Slager, who scored five points along with eight rebounds and two blocks.
It was another big night for Laci Mast, who dropped a double-double on 23 points and 11 steals for Greenwood Mennonite. Mast is crushing the steal category: she's posted at least two every time she's taken the court this season. The team also got some help courtesy of Faith Troyer, who scored nine points along with six rebounds and four steals.
Chestertown Christian Academy dropped their record down to 0-5 with that defeat, which was their fourth straight on the road dating back to last season. As for Greenwood Mennonite, the victory was the fourth in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 12-2.
Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Chestertown Christian Academy will take on the Knights at 5:00 p.m. on Monday. Fairwinds Christian has been getting the ball to fall more lately as they've increased their point totals each of their last four games. As for Greenwood Mennonite, they will head out on the road to square off against the at 5:15 p.m. on Monday. Calvary Christian Academy's defense has only allowed 29.1 points per game this season, so the Flames' offense will have their work cut out for them.
