Dakota hasn't had much luck against Forreston recently, but that could start to change on Tuesday. The Indians will venture away from home to face off against the Cardinals at 4:30 p.m. Dakota is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 6.3 runs per game this season.

Galena hit Dakota with a eight-run sixth inning on Monday, which goes a long way in explaining the final result. The Indians lost 10-2 to the Pirates. Having soared to a lofty 11 runs in the game before, the Indians couldn't push the score so high this time.

Brayden Larson made the most of his time at bat despite the final result and went a perfect 2-for-2 with two stolen bases and one run.

Meanwhile, Forreston fought the good fight in their extra-innings contest against Lena-Winslow on Tuesday but wound up with a less-than-desirable result. They fell just short of the Panthers by a score of 8-7. The Cardinals' loss signaled the end of their ten-game winning streak.

Alec Schoonhoven was huge no matter where he played even without the win. On the mound, he struck out eight batters over 6.1 innings while giving up just two earned runs off five hits. He has been consistent recently: he hasn't tossed less than five strikeouts in three consecutive appearances. He was also big at the plate, going 3-for-4 with one double and one RBI. That double marked the first that he has hit this season.

In other batting news, Carson Akins was cooking despite his team's loss, getting on base in three of his five plate appearances with three runs and one triple. That triple was his first of the season. Brendan Greenfield was another key player, going 1-for-4 with two runs and two RBI.

Forreston's defeat was their first in the conference, dropping their conference record down to 2-1 and their overall record down to 14-3. As for Dakota, their loss dropped their record down to 9-9.

Dakota came up short against Forreston in their previous matchup back in April of 2024, falling 4-1. Can the Indians avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
