Trinity Christian has been on the road for three straight, but on Tuesday they'll finally head home. They will take on the LaGrange Grangers at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Both teams come into the match bolstered by wins in their previous matches.
Last Friday, Trinity Christian earned a 67-54 win over Troup County. Given Trinity Christian's advantage in MaxPreps' Georgia basketball rankings (they are ranked 61st, while Troup County is ranked 317th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Gabbie Grooms was her usual excellent self, shooting 5-for-9 from deep and dropping a double-double on 37 points and 11 rebounds. As a matter of fact, that's the most points she has scored all season. The team also got some help courtesy of Madison Bennett, who scored 13 points along with four steals.
LaGrange posted their closest win yet this season last Saturday. They sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 37-35 victory over Riverdale. The victory was just what LaGrange needed coming off of a 57-10 defeat in their prior game.
Trinity Christian's win was their fourth straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 9-5. As for LaGrange, their win bumped their record up to 3-8.
Trinity Christian strolled past LaGrange in their previous meeting back in February of 2023 by a score of 44-28. Will Trinity Christian repeat their success, or does LaGrange have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
