Basketball Recap: Lacorrian Thompson's Big Game Can't Quite Lead Central of Coosa County over Vincent

Central of Coosa County fought the good fight in their overtime contest against Vincent on Thursday but wound up with a less-than-desirable result. They fell just short of the Vincent Yellow Jackets by a score of 59-57. The Cougars were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Yellow Jackets apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in February of 2022.

Central of Coosa County lost despite a true team effort on offense, the best among them being Lacorrian Thompson, who posted 22 points along with seven assists and five boards. That's the most points Thompson has posted since back in January. The team also got some help courtesy of Kaleb Ballard, who almost dropped a double-double on nine points and 13 rebounds.

Even though they lost, Central of Coosa County smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 17 offensive boards. That's the most offensive rebounds they've managed all season.

Central of Coosa County's defeat dropped their record down to 4-2. As for Vincent, the win got them back to even at 4-4.

Central of Coosa County didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next match, a 58-51 victory against Reeltown on the 17th. As for Vincent, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next game, a 63-51 win against Shelby County on the 13th.
