Atmore Christian is 2-8 against West Florida Baptist Academy since March of 2018 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Tuesday. The Rams will face off against the Conquerors at 4:30 p.m. Each of these teams will be battling to keep a three-game winning streak alive.
On Monday, Atmore Christian made easy work of Lighthouse Private Christian Academy and carried off a 17-2 victory.
Ava Smoker made a splash no matter where she played. She looked comfortable on the mound, not allowing a single earned run and allowing only one hit over four innings pitched. Smoker was also big at the plate, getting on base in all three of her plate appearances with four stolen bases, three runs, and one RBI. That's the most stolen bases she has posted since back in March.

In other batting news, Tamra Stoltzfus was a standout: she went a perfect 3-for-3 with one home run, three stolen bases, and four runs. She has been hot recently, having also posted three or more RBI the last three times she's played. Lizzy Landis was another key player, going 2-for-4 with three stolen bases, five RBI, and two runs.
Atmore Christian was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .556. That was just more of the same: they've now posted a batting average of .348 or higher in four consecutive matchups.
Meanwhile, West Florida Baptist Academy got the win against Rocky Bayou Christian last Monday by a conclusive 10-2. The result was nothing new for the Conquerors, who have now won ten contests by eight runs or more so far this season.
Like Atmore Christian, West Florida Baptist Academy also got a great game from a two-way player: Haley Snyder. She struck out 13 batters over seven innings while giving up just two earned runs off two hits. Snyder was also solid in the batter's box, going 3-for-4 with one run and one double.
In other batting news, Zoie Griffin was excellent, going 2-for-5 with three RBI and two runs. Another player making a difference was Cambri Goins, who went 2-for-5 with two RBI and one run.
West Florida Baptist Academy's win was their ninth straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 14-1. The road victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 15.6 runs over those games. As for Atmore Christian, their record is now 5-14.
Tuesday's game might come down to which pitcher can control the ball better. Atmore Christian has hit smart this season, having averaged an OBP of .584. However, it's not like West Florida Baptist Academy struggles in that department as they've averaged .590. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.
Atmore Christian suffered a grim 19-5 defeat to West Florida Baptist Academy in their previous matchup two weeks ago. Can the Rams avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
