The Lyman Greyhounds won the last time they faced the Trinity Prep Saints, and things went their way on Tuesday too. Lyman put the hurt on Trinity Prep with a sharp 64-42 victory.
Max Mattingly continued his habit of posting crazy stat lines, dropping a double-double on 21 points and ten rebounds. He is on a roll when it comes to rebounds, as he's now pulled down eight or more in the last three games he's played. Tayvion Jones was another key contributor, scoring nine points along with five rebounds and four steals.
When it comes to explaining why Trinity Prep lost, one person who can't be blamed is David Hull. Despite the final result, he scored 17 points along with five rebounds. Another player making a difference was Holden Lutz, who scored eight points.
Lyman's victory ended a five-game drought at home and bumped them up to 7-16. As for Trinity Prep, they have traveled a rocky road recently having lost four of their last five matches, which put a noticeable dent in their 8-15 record this season.
Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Lyman won't have much time to rest: their next matchup is against University at 7:30 p.m. on January 31st. University has been dominant on offense recently, as they've racked up an incredible 449 points over their last six matches. Trinity Prep's road trip will continue as they head out to face Father Lopez at 6:30 p.m. on February 1st. Father Lopez has insisted on making their lastthree contests complete nail-biters, turning in a record of 3-0 during that stretch of close contests.
