After flying high against the Big Springs Charter BSCS Hawks last Wednesday, The St. Stephen's Episcopal Spartans came back down to earth. St. Stephen's Episcopal was beaten by San Antonio Patriots HomeSchool 56-25 on Friday. St. Stephen's Episcopal was given a dose of their own medicine in this game as San Antonio Patriots HomeSchool apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played back in September of 2022.
Despite the loss, St. Stephen's Episcopal still got an impressive performance from Christopher Tapia, who rushed for 138 yards and two touchdowns on only 13 carries. Tapia was no stranger to the big play, turning on the jets for a run that went for 55 yards.
Caleb Norman was his usual excellent self, rushing for 377 yards and six touchdowns while picking up 20.9 yards per carry.
St. Stephen's Episcopal's defeat was their fifth straight on the road (dating back to last season), which bumped their record down to 3-7. Admittedly, the team was facing some tough opposition over that stretch, including 9-1 Jonesboro and 8-1 Tribe W (their opponents had an average overall winning percentage of 74.9% over those games). As for San Antonio Patriots HomeSchool, the win for they keeps them at an undefeated 9-1.
