The Ripon Christian Knights will be playing at home against the Golden Sierra Grizzlies at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Ripon Christian has been dominant on offense recently, as they've racked up an incredible 478 points over their last ten contests.
Ripon Christian stacked a ninth blowout onto their ever-increasing hoard on Friday. They breezed by Delhi at home to the tune of 35-0. Given Ripon Christian's advantage in MaxPreps' California football rankings (they are ranked 279th, while Delhi is ranked 881st), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
It was another big night for Brady Grondz, who rushed for 82 yards and two touchdowns on only eight carries.
Meanwhile, even though Esparto scored an imposing 32 points on Friday, Golden Sierra still came out on top. Golden Sierra took their match against Esparto 42-32. The win made it back-to-back wins for Golden Sierra.
Golden Sierra can attribute much of their success to Aiden Pullin, who rushed for 144 yards and four touchdowns on only 15 carries, and Gavin Miller, who rushed for 208 yards and two touchdowns while picking up 13.0 yards per carry. Miller hasn't dropped below 100 rushing yards for three straight games.
Ripon Christian's win was their ninth straight at home (dating back to last season), bumping their overall record up to 9-1. They've been dominating during the games in that stretch too, as they've won by an average of 39.89 points. As for Golden Sierra, they are on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four games, which provided a massive bump to their 4-5 record this season.
Everything came up roses for Ripon Christian against Golden Sierra in their previous meeting back in November of 2015 as the squad secured a 42-7 victory. Will Ripon Christian repeat their success, or does Golden Sierra have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
