While Clark's  win against Cornerstone Christian wasn't quite the blowout it was the last time the pair played, they still came out on top. The Clark Cougars sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with  a  2-1  victory over the Cornerstone Christian Warriors  on Thursday. The Cougars haven't had any issues with the Warriors recently, as the game was their third consecutive  win against them.
Clark got a great performance from  Ben Roska as he  struck out six batters over  six innings while giving up just one earned run off   five  hits (and only one walk).
 At the plate,  the team  relied heavily on  Tristan Hidalgo, who  went a perfect 2-for-2 with one  stolen base and one  RBI. That  stolen base was  his first of the season. The team also got some help courtesy of  Jerry Brightwell, who  scored two  runs and  stole a base while  getting on base  in two of his three plate appearances.
Clark picked up their first home  victory, bumping their record up to 3-5. As for Cornerstone Christian,  with the  defeat, they broke their three-game winning streak and moved their record to 12-3.
 Coming up, Clark will take on Pioneer in a tournament  on Thursday. The last three games Clark has played have been within two runs, so don't be surprised if it's a close one. As for Cornerstone Christian, they will be taking part in a tournament against Midland  at 12:00  p.m.  on Friday.
