The McCallie Blue Tornado and the Signal Mountain Eagles will face off at 5:30 p.m. on December 28th without much rest after finishing up games yesterday. McCallie will be looking to keep their seven-game home win streak (dating back to last season) alive.
Last Saturday, McCallie's game was all tied up 28-28 at the half, but luckily for them it didn't stay that way. They snuck past Montgomery Bell Academy with a 50-44 victory.
McCallie's win was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Kenneth Chime, who scored eight points along with 13 rebounds and three steals. Chime has been hot recently, having posted eight or more rebounds the last three times he's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Kaleb Gallman, who scored 14 points.
Meanwhile, Signal Mountain pushed their score all the way to 63 on Wednesday, but even that wasn't enough to win. The contest between Signal Mountain and Rhea County wasn't particularly close, with Signal Mountain falling 78-63.
McCallie's win bumped their record up to 10-1. As for Signal Mountain, their loss ended a four-game streak of away wins dating back to last season and brought them to 9-5.
Everything came up roses for McCallie against Signal Mountain when the teams last played back in November of 2016 as the squad secured a 78-31 victory. Does McCallie have another victory up their sleeve, or will Signal Mountain turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
