The Providence School Stallions put another one in the bag on Wednesday to keep their perfect season alive. The stars were shining brightly for them in a 63-47 victory over Master's Academy. Given Providence School's advantage in MaxPreps' Florida basketball rankings (they are ranked seventh, while Master's Academy is ranked 220th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Providence School's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Julianna Baskin, who dropped a double-double on 13 points and 18 rebounds. Those 18 rebounds set a new season-high mark for her. The team also got some help courtesy of Janai Jordan, who scored 16 points along with five assists.
Master's Academy's loss came despite strong showings from Brooklyn O'Gallagher and Maria Newman. O'Gallagher scored 24 points, while Newman scored 21 points. Newman scored a full 44.7% of Master's Academy's points, the seventh time in a row she's earned more than a third of the team's points.
Providence School's win bumped their record up to 11-0. As for Master's Academy, they now have a losing record at 4-5.
Providence School will be staying on the road on Thursday to face off against Calvary Christian Academy at 3:30 p.m. on December 21st. Master's Academy won't have much time to rest: their next contest is against Cornerstone Charter Academy at 5:00 p.m. on December 21st.
