Baseball Game Preview: Canute Trojans vs. Atoka Wampus Cats

Canute is a perfect 3-0 against Atoka since March of 2016 and they'll have a chance to extend that dominance on Thursday. The Trojans will take on the Wampus Cats at 2:00 p.m. Atoka took a loss in their last contest and will be looking to turn the tables on Canute, who comes in off a win.

Canute took a loss when they played away from home on Saturday, but their home fans gave them all the motivation they needed on Monday. Everything went their way against Sterling as they made off with a 20-2 win. Considering the Trojans have won four games by more than nine runs this season, Monday's blowout was nothing new.

Meanwhile, Atoka was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their fourth straight loss. They were a single run away from ending the streak, but they lost a 4-3 heartbreaker at the hands of Valliant.

Canute's victory was their eighth straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 6-2. The home wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they've averaged 11.8 runs this season. As for Atoka, their defeat dropped their record down to 2-7.

Canute was able to grind out a solid victory over Atoka in their previous matchup back in March of 2022, winning 8-4. Do the Trojans have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Wampus Cats turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
