The Alpine Bucks will head out on the road to square off against the Kermit Yellow Jackets at 6:30 p.m. on Friday. Keep an eye on the score for this one: the pair posted some lofty point totals in their previous games.
You can't lose the matchup if you win every quarter, and that was precisely Alpine's strategy against the Coyotes on Tuesday. Given that consistent dominance, it should come as no surprise that Alpine blew the Coyotes out of the water with a 75-20 final score. The matchup was all but wrapped up at the end of the third, by which point Alpine had established a 44 point advantage.
Alpine can attribute much of their success to Hope Dominguez, who dropped a double-double on ten points and 12 rebounds, and Novah Carrasco, who dropped a double-double on 29 points and 11 rebounds. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Carrasco has scored all season. The team also got some help courtesy of Ali Maroney, who scored four points along with eight rebounds.
Meanwhile, Kermit humbled the Coyotes with a 56-28 victory. The win made it back-to-back wins for Kermit.
Alpine has been performing well recently as they've won six of their last eight contests, which provided a nice bump to their 10-16 record this season. As for Kermit, their win ended a three-game drought on the road and puts them at 16-13.
Alpine was able to grind out a solid victory over the Yellow Jackets when the teams last played back in January, winning 52-44. The rematch might be a little tougher for Alpine since the team won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
