Kaufman has been on the road for two straight, but on Friday they'll finally head home. They will take on The Community Braves at 7:30 p.m. on Friday.
Last Friday, things could have been worse for Kaufman, but they could have been a whole lot better as they took a 35-20 loss to Sulphur Springs.
Kylevon Morrow put forth a good effort for the losing side as he rushed for 180 yards and a touchdown while picking up 7.5 yards per carry.
Meanwhile, Community's three-game losing streak came to an end on Friday. They walked away with a 20-12 victory over Mabank. The win was just what Community needed coming off of a 58-6 loss in their prior match.
Community can attribute much of their success to Gabe Duron, who rushed for 76 yards, and Brandon Mills jr., who rushed for 136 yards while picking up 7.6 yards per carry.
Sulphur Springs' victory bumped their season record to 8-1 while Kaufman's defeat dropped theirs to 2-7.
Here's a few offensive stats to keep an eye on ahead of Friday's game: Kaufman has been excellent on the ground this season, having averaged 152.4 rushing yards per game. However, it's not like Community struggles in that department as they've been even better at 229.7 per game. It's looking like Friday's game might have some serious battles in the trenches.
Kaufman came up short against Community in their previous matchup back in November of 2022, falling 21-14. Will Kaufman have more luck at home instead of on the road?
