Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a  season-high score is even better (just ask Hondo). They never let the Pearsall Mavericks onto the board and left with  an   8-0  victory  on Friday. The Owls haven't had any issues with the Mavericks recently, as the game was their fifth consecutive  win against them.
 Hondo was without their leading scorer,  Karla Renteria, in Friday's   match. With  Renteria sidelined,  Zohana Wavle got her first action of the season.
Hondo's  victory was their first in the district, bumping their district record up to 1-5 and their overall record up to 3-11. As for Pearsall,  they are  on  a  six-game losing streak  that has dropped them down to 0-6.
 Coincidentally, Hondo and Pearsall will both be playing Poteet the next time they take the pitch. Pearsall will head out to face Poteet at 5:00  p.m.  on Tuesday, while Hondo will  host them  at 7:00  p.m.  on February 21st.
