Mundy's Mill is 1-8 against Woodward Academy since January of 2021 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Tuesday. The Mundy's Mill Tigers will face off against the Woodward Academy War Eagles at 5:15 p.m. Both teams come into the game bolstered by wins in their previous matches.
On Saturday, Mundy's Mill was able to grind out a solid victory over Lovejoy, taking the game 53-46. The victory made it back-to-back wins for Mundy's Mill.
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Mundy's Mill to victory, but perhaps none more so than Dajuan Riddle, who scored 14 points. The team also got some help courtesy of Orlando Favors, who scored 14 points along with eight rebounds.
Meanwhile, Woodward Academy came tearing into Saturday's match with six straight wins (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 33.8 points) and they left with even more momentum. They came out on top against Alcovy by a score of 51-41. Despite the win, that was the fewest points Woodward Academy has scored all season.
It was another big night for Brandon Peters, who scored 13 points along with six rebounds and four steals. He hasn't dropped below two steals for three straight games. Zachary Foster was another key contributor, scoring eight points along with seven rebounds and two steals.
Mundy's Mill is on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four games, which provided a nice bump to their 13-10 record this season. As for Woodward Academy, their win bumped their record up to 21-5.
Mundy's Mill was taken down by Woodward Academy 93-41 when the teams last played back in January. That contest was all but decided by halftime, at which point Mundy's Mill was down 51-20.
