The Mount Ida Lions's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Friday after their third straight loss. They took a 51-36 bruising from Union Christian Academy.
Union Christian Academy's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Luke Shure, who dropped a double-double on 22 points and 11 rebounds. Shure hasn't dropped below eight rebounds for three straight games. Another player making a difference was Dylan Curtis, who scored 17 points along with five steals.
Mount Ida has not been sharp recently, as they've lost four of their last five games, which put a noticeable dent in their 3-10 record this season. As for Union Christian Academy, they have been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four matches, which provided a massive bump to their 9-13 record this season.
Mount Ida will head out on the road to face off against Taylor at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The matchup should be an exciting one, as these teams are ranked near one another in Arkansas (Taylor is ranked 237th, while Mount Ida is ranked 251st). As for Union Christian Academy, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Crossover Prep at 2:30 p.m. on Thursday.
