Standley Lake is 2-8 against D'Evelyn since April of 2018 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Tuesday. The Gators will be playing in front of their home fans against the Jaguars at 4:00 p.m. Standley Lake is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 7.3 runs per game this season.
Standley Lake had to skate by with only a two-run margin when they last took the field, which might have inspired the 16-run drubbing they dealt Kennedy on Monday. The Gators' pitcher stepped up to hand the Commanders a 16-0 shutout.

Titus Schrecengost was incredible, going 2-for-3 with two stolen bases, three runs, and one RBI. He is becoming a predictor of Standley Lake's success: when he posts at least two stolen bases the team is 3-1 (and 7-9 when he doesn't). The team also got some help courtesy of Marc Garcia, who went 1-for-2 with two runs, one stolen base, and two RBI.
Standley Lake was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .550. The last time their batting average was this high was back in April of 2024.
Meanwhile, D'Evelyn fought the good fight in their extra-innings matchup against Evergreen on Saturday but wound up with a less-than-desirable result. They fell just short of the Cougars by a score of 6-5. The Jaguars just can't catch a break and have now endured three defeats in a row.
Jack Meiser made the most of his time at bat despite the final result and went 3-for-4 with two RBI and one double.
D'Evelyn's loss dropped their record down to 6-14. As for Standley Lake, the victory got them back to even at 10-10.
Tuesday's contest might come down to which pitcher can control the ball better. Standley Lake has hit smart this season, having averaged an OBP of .439. However, it's not like D'Evelyn struggles in that department as they've averaged .436. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.
Standley Lake might still be hurting after the 14-4 defeat they got from D'Evelyn in their previous matchup back in March. Will the Gators have more luck at home instead of on the road? Check MaxPreps after the match for a full breakdown of the game, commentary, and other baseball content.
