Lawrence Upper is headed in fresh off scoring the most runs they have all season. They fell just short of Fuchs Mizrachi by a score of 19-18 on Monday. Despite running the score up even higher than they did in their prior game on Wednesday (14), the Lions still had to take the loss.
Meanwhile, Medina Christian Academy was able to grind out a solid victory over Central Christian on Thursday, taking the game 9-4. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Knights.
Caden Dyer made a splash no matter where he played. On the mound, he didn't allow a single earned run over 5.2 innings pitched. He also tossed no earned runs, which is notable because Medina Christian Academy is 2-1 when he allows at most three earned runs, but 1-2 otherwise. Dyer was also solid in the batter's box, going 1-for-3 with two runs, one stolen base, and one RBI.
In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Derek Kruszewski, who went 3-for-4 with two stolen bases, three runs, and two RBI. He also put up a double, which was his first of the season. Another player making a difference was Daniel Hussey, who went 2-for-4 with two stolen bases and two RBI.
The win got Medina Christian Academy back to even at 3-3. As for Lawrence Upper, with the loss, they broke their three-game winning streak and moved their record to 4-3.
Lawrence Upper came out on top in a nail-biter against Medina Christian Academy when the teams last played back in April of 2024, sneaking past 5-4. Will the Lions repeat their success, or do the Knights have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
