Even though the Bangor Cardinals scored an imposing 57 points on Saturday, the Pardeeville Bulldogs still came out on top. Pardeeville took their contest against Bangor 70-57. Given Pardeeville's advantage in MaxPreps' Wisconsin basketball rankings (they are ranked 83rd, while Bangor is ranked 251st), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Bangor's defeat shouldn't obscure the performances of Chase Horstman, who scored 14 points along with eight rebounds and three steals, and Nolan Michek who scored 16 points along with three steals. Those three steals set a new season-high mark for him. Another player making a difference was Garrett Brezany, who scored eight points.
The victory (which was Pardeeville's third in a row) raised their record to 9-2. Those good results were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 74.7 points per game. As for Bangor, their loss dropped their record down to 4-3.
Pardeeville will have some time to savor their victory since their next game is a little ways off: they'll take on Westfield Area at 7:00 p.m. on January 16th. Bangor and Blair-Taylor will face off at 5:45 p.m. on January 2nd without much rest after finishing up games yesterday.
