If the Sylacauga Aggies were feeling good off their 59-36 takedown of the Jemison Panthers on Thursday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. Sylacauga took a 48-40 hit to the loss column at the hands of Briarwood Christian on Friday. Sylacauga has not had much luck with Briarwood Christian recently, as the team's come up short the last three times they've met.
Several Aggies players turned in solid performances, despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Revish Bardwell, who scored nine points along with eight rebounds. Bardwell is on a roll when it comes to rebounds, as he's now pulled down eight or more in the last four games he's played. Another player making a difference was Erick Oneal, who scored 13 points along with five rebounds.
Sylacauga's defeat dropped their record down to 5-8. As for Briarwood Christian, they now have a winning record of 6-5.
Sylacauga won't have much time to rest: their next matchup is against Talladega at 7:30 p.m. on December 16th. Talladega is hoping to put an end to a three-game streak of away losses. As for Briarwood Christian, they will head out on the road to face off against Pleasant Grove at 4:30 p.m. on Wednesday. Pleasant Grove is coming into the game on a three-game losing streak.
