The Wood County Christian Wildcat are on the road again on Tuesday and plays Ohio Valley Christian at 6:30 p.m. on February 13th. Wood County Christian has been getting the ball to fall more lately as they've increased their point totals each of their last three games.
Last Tuesday, Wood County Christian strolled past Valley with points to spare, taking the game 60-43. Given Wood County Christian's advantage in MaxPreps' West Virginia basketball rankings (they are ranked 118th, while Valley is ranked 805th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Meanwhile, Ohio Valley Christian's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Friday after their eighth straight loss. Their tough 57-33 defeat to Parkersburg Christian might stick with them for a while. The defeat unfortunately continues a disappointing trend for Ohio Valley Christian in their matchups with Parkersburg Christian: they've now lost five in a row.
Wood County Christian's win bumped their record up to 5-13. As for Ohio Valley Christian, they dropped their record down to 2-15 with that loss, which was their eighth straight at home.
Everything came up roses for Wood County Christian against Ohio Valley Christian when the teams last played back in January of 2023 as the team secured a 62-30 win. The rematch might be a little tougher for Wood County Christian since the squad won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
