The Armwood Hawks waltzed into Tuesday's game with three straight wins but they left with four. They really took it to Alonso for the full four quarters, racking up a 72-5 win on the road. With Armwood ahead 43-2 at the half, the match was all but over already.
Armwood's win was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Amaya Richardson, who dropped a double-double on 11 points and 13 steals. Another player making a difference was Na'Chauncia Welch, who scored 18 points along with 4 steals.
Armwood's win bumped their record up to 4-2. As for Alonso, they still haven't won a game yet this season and fell to 0-4.
Armwood will head out on the road to face off against Bloomingdale at 8:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Bloomingdale is also coming in off of a big victory, so somebody is in for a big reversal of fortune. As for Alonso, they will look to defend their home court on Wednesday against Chamberlain at 8:00 p.m. Chamberlain is hoping to put an end to a three-game streak of away losses.
