The Aiken Fighting Green Hornets have been a dominant force so far, but they're in the middle of a mini-slump at the moment. They took a 40-36 hit to the loss column at the hands of South Aiken. If Aiken hoped to take revenge for the 46-39 defeat against they when the teams met on Friday, then they were left disappointed.
Aiken's defeat came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Azaria Sapp, who scored nine points along with four blocks and three steals. Another player making a difference was Norriyah Bradley, who dropped a double-double on 12 points and ten rebounds.
Aiken's loss ended a six-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 10-5. As for South Aiken, the win got them back to even at 9-9.
Aiken will head out on the road to challenge Airport at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Airport will be looking to keep their four-game home win streak alive. South Aiken will take on North Augusta at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. North Augusta will be looking to extend their current six-game winning streak.
