It was a good run, but the Ontario Christian Knights unfortunately witnessed the end of their five-game winning streak on Friday. They ended up on the wrong side of a rough 74-50 walloping at the hands of Linfield Christian. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest defeat Ontario Christian has suffered yet this season.
When it comes to explaining why Ontario Christian lost, one person who can't be blamed is Cole Jones. Despite the final result, he dropped a double-double on 16 points and ten rebounds. The team also got some help courtesy of Max Ma, who scored 13 points.
Linfield Christian's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Julius Brower led the charge by dropping a double-double on 18 points and 12 rebounds. Another player making a difference was Xavier Cox, who went 7 for 9 from beyond the arc en route to 23 points and 1 assist.
Ontario Christian bumped their record down to 13-7 with that defeat, which was their fourth straight on the road dating back to last season. As for Linfield Christian, their win bumped their record up to 9-11.
Ontario Christian will be playing at home against Aquinas at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Aquinas will be looking to extend their current three-game winning streak. Linfield Christian won't have much time to rest: their next match is against Roosevelt at 7:30 p.m. on January 13th. Roosevelt is also coming in off of a big victory, so somebody is in for a big reversal of fortune.
