Baseball Recap: Erath's Winning Streak Snapped at Four Games

It was a good run, but Erath unfortunately witnessed the end of their four-game winning streak on Monday. They took a 9-6 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Lafayette Christian Academy Knights. The Bobcats were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Knights apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in February of 2025.

Jack Landry and Talan Landry did some serious damage despite the final result: Jack got on base in four of his five plate appearances with one home run and two RBI, while Talan went 2-for-3 with one home run and one double. That home run was Jack's first of the season. Tate Collins was another key player, getting on base in four of his five plate appearances with one stolen base and one run.

Erath's defeat dropped their record down to 14-7. As for Lafayette Christian Academy, the win got them back to even at 13-13.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming matchups. Erath will square off against St. Martinville at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The Tigers will aim to continue their four-game streak of scoring more runs each game than the last. As for Lafayette Christian Academy, they will take on Lake Arthur at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The Tigers will roll in looking for their fourth straight victory, something the Knights surely won't give up without a fight.
