Silas will face off against North Thurston at 4:00 p.m. on Monday. Silas is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 12.2 runs per game this season.
On Wednesday, Silas got the win against Lakes by a conclusive 19-5. The win continues a trend for the Rams in their matchups with the Lancers: they've now won four in a row.
Silas got a massive performance out of Natalie Medalia, who went 2-for-4 with three stolen bases, three runs, and one RBI. Lydia Casey was another key player, getting on base in four of her five plate appearances with two stolen bases, two runs, and two RBI.
They weren't the only ones making solid contact: Silas kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 11 hits. They are 4-1 when they post 11 or more hits.
Central Kitsap hit North Thurston with a five-run first inning last Thursday, which goes a long way in explaining the final result. The Rams lost 11-1 to the Cougars. The Rams have struggled against the Cougars recently, as the game was their third consecutive lost matchup.
North Thurston saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Sara Halterman, who went 2-for-3 with one RBI.
Silas' victory bumped their record up to 4-6. As for North Thurston, their loss dropped their record down to 2-5.
North Thurston's pitching crew has a crucial task ahead of them: Silas has been making plenty of contact this season, having averaged 10 hits per game. It's a different story for North Thurston, though, as they've been averaging 9.6 hits. Given Silas' sizable advantage in that area, North Thurston will need to find a way to close that gap.
