Wyatt Choate was nothing short of spectacular: he threw for 212 yards and four touchdowns on only 14 passes. Those four passing touchdowns gave him a new career-high. Tate Ballard also helped with two scores in total.
South Haven Christian didn't go easy on the quarterback and picked off two passes before the game was over. Kade Atkinson was the real danger to the passing game, picking up two interceptions all by himself.
Meanwhile, TN T strolled past Freedom C with points to spare on Friday, taking the game 44-28.
South Haven Christian better keep an eye on Ethan Musser. He was instrumental in TN T's win, rushing for 92 yards and a pair of TDs on only five carries, while also throwing for 186 yards and three touchdowns on only 16 passes. Musser is becoming a predictor of the Tigers' success: when he posts at least three passing touchdowns the team is undefeated (and 1-2 when he doesn't). TN T's leading receiver Graham Russell was Musser's top target yet again, picking up 128 receiving yards and one score.
TN T's defense made their presence known, laying out the QB 4.5 times. Mnason Waldie refused to say out of the backfield, picking up three sacks all by himself.
South Haven Christian's record is now 7-1. As for TN T, their record now sits at 6-2.
Friday's matchup might be decided on the ground. South Haven Christian has been excellent on the ground this season, having averaged 186 rushing yards per game. However, it's not like TN T struggles in that department as they've been averaging 173.2 rushing yards. There's a good chance Friday's game turns into a tough fight on the ground.
South Haven Christian took their win against TN T in their previous matchup back in August of 2024 by a conclusive 62-42 score. The rematch might be a little tougher for South Haven Christian since the team won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
