Trey Rush Turns in Season-Best Effort
On Friday, Grady got the W thanks in part to Trey Rush playing the best football he has all season. Rush rushed for 203 yards and three touchdowns on only nine carries, and also picked up 63 receiving yards, good enough to set a new career-high in rushing yards in the process. He also deserves a shoutout for his performance on D, picking up two sacks, forcing two fumbles, and making 13 total tackles (5.0 for loss).
The win was the fifth in a row for Grady, bringing their record for this year to 7-1. Rush and Grady will head out to square off against Floyd at 1:00 p.m. on Friday.

While Elida might've come up empty on Friday, Cason Norman wasn't going down without a fight. Nobody could stop Norman as he rushed for 220 yards and four touchdowns while picking up 12.2 yards per carry. He showed off some serious burst, turning on the afterburners on one carry for 50 yards.
Elida's defeat was their third straight on the road, which dropped their record down to 5-3. Norman and Elida will square off against Dora at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.

Brycen Barnes Delivers Best Effort of Season
Roy/Mosquero was led to victory by Brycen Barnes, who turned in his biggest game of the season on Friday. Barnes rushed for 163 yards and four touchdowns on only nine carries. The effort marked the most rushing yards he has had since back in October of 2023. He didn't just play on offense: he also made three total tackles and defended two passes.
Unfortunately for Floyd, this isn't the first big game they've seen from Barnes. When Barnes last faced the Broncos back in September of 2023, he rushed for 48 yards and a touchdown, and also picked up 42 receiving yards and a touchdown.

Gonzalez-Lopez Made His Presence Known in New Mexico School for the Deaf's 58-26 Defeat
While Alex Gonzalez-Lopez delivered a dominant performance on Thursday, a win just wasn't in the cards for New Mexico School for the Deaf. Gonzalez-Lopez turned in nothing short of a gem, picking up 129 receiving yards and two touchdowns, while also rushing for 84 yards on only ten carries.
New Mexico School for the Deaf's defeat was their fifth straight at home dating back to last season, which dropped their record down to 2-4. Gonzalez-Lopez and New Mexico School for the Deaf will challenge Arkansas School for the Deaf at 2:30 p.m. on Saturday.
