The Macon County Bulldogs's game on Thursday was a tough loss, but they didn't let that memory haunt them on Friday. They narrowly escaped with a win as the squad sidled past Dougherty 52-50.
Macon County got their win on the backs of several key players, but it was Aliyah Lake out in front who scored 18 points. The game was Lake's fourth in a row with at least ten points. The team also got some help courtesy of Morgan Cochran, who scored 16 points.
Macon County is on a roll lately: they've won four of their last five contests, which provided a nice bump to their 6-4 record this season. As for Dougherty, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 7-5.
Macon County will have some time to savor their win since their next game is a little ways off: they'll take on Schley County at 6:00 p.m. on January 3, 2024. Dougherty is on the road again on Friday and play against Beach at 2:00 p.m. on December 29th. That game will pit two of the most dominant guards against one another: Mariah Reid and Jatiana Chambers.
