The Germantown Academy Patriots lost against Shipley back in December of 2022, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Friday. Germantown Academy was just a bucket shy of victory and fell 51-50 to Shipley. The loss was a bit of a surprise, as Germantown Academy came into the contest with a sizable advantage in MaxPreps' Pennsylvania basketball rankings (they are ranked 174th, while Shipley is ranked 375th).
Gyasi Miller was his usual excellent self, scoring 21 points along with three blocks for Shipley. That makes it four consecutive games in which Miller has scored at least 25% of Shipley's points. Another player making a difference was Will Littles, Jr, who scored 15 points.
Germantown Academy's loss dropped their record down to 3-3. As for Shipley, their win ended a five-game drought on the road dating back to last season and puts them at 2-3.
Germantown Academy won't have much time to rest: their next contest is against Perkiomen School at 6:30 p.m. on December 16th. One thing working in Perkiomen School's favor is that they have posted big point totals every time they've taken the court this season.
