The Lenape Indians lost against the Eastside Tigers back in January of 2023, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Thursday. Lenape fell to Eastside 57-52. The loss was a bit of a surprise, as Lenape came into the game with a sizable advantage in MaxPreps' New Jersey basketball rankings (they are ranked 14th, while Eastside is ranked 62nd).
Eastside was led to victory by Will Love and Jahaan Green. Love scored 12 points along with eight rebounds and three steals, while Green scored 16 points along with six rebounds and two steals. Another player making a difference was Tyrone Washam, who scored six points along with five assists.
Lenape's defeat ended a eight-game streak of away wins dating back to last season and brought them to 8-3. As for Eastside, their victory bumped their record up to 6-3.
Lenape on the road again on Friday and play against Kingsway at 6:00 p.m. on January 12th. Kingsway has been getting the ball to fall more lately as they've increased their point totals each of their last three games. As for Eastside, they will take on Metamora at 8:30 p.m. on Saturday. Metamora knows how to get points on the board -- the squad has finished with flashy point totals in its past three matches -- so hopefully Eastside likes a good challenge.
