The V.R. Eaton Eagles lost against the Southlake Carroll Dragons back in October of 2022, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Thursday. V.R. Eaton was outmatched by Southlake Carroll at home and fell 70-28. V.R. Eaton has struggled against Southlake Carroll recently, as their game on Thursday was their sixth consecutive lost matchup.
Defeat or not, V.R. Eaton got some senior leadership from Noah Lugo who rushed for 172 yards and two touchdowns on only eight carries and Demarion Williams-franklin who rushed for 109 yards and two touchdowns. Lugo really tore up the turf during one magnificent 71-yard run.
Southlake Carroll was led to victory by Graham Knowles and Davis Penn. Knowles threw for 307 yards while completing 82.4% of his passes, while Penn rushed for 128 yards and four touchdowns on only nine carries. Brock Boyd did his part to keep the secondary busy, picking up 111 receiving yards.
V.R. Eaton's defeat dropped their record down to 4-4. As for Southlake Carroll, the victory for they keeps them at an undefeated 8-0.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. V.R. Eaton will square off against Haltom at 7:00 p.m. on October 27th. Haltom is out to stop a three-game streak of losses at home. As for Southlake Carroll, they will head out on the road to face off against Byron Nelson at 7:00 p.m. on October 27th. Byron Nelson is also coming in off of a big victory, so somebody is in for a big reversal of fortune.
