The Nimitz Cougars will head out on the road to face off against the Dekaney Wildcats at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Each of these teams will be fighting to keep a win streak alive as Nimitz comes in on three and Dekaney on four.
Nimitz can now show off six landslide victories after their most recent game on Friday. They were the clear victor by a 44-24 margin over Spring.
Meanwhile, Dekaney stacked a fourth blowout onto their ever-increasing hoard on Thursday. They blew past MacArthur, posting a 42-7 win at home. With Dekaney ahead 42-7 at the half, the contest was all but over already.
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Dekaney to victory, but perhaps none more so than Samaritan Cunningham, who rushed for 87 yards and a touchdown on only six carries. Markie Grant did his part for the team as well, scoring a TD off of 50 receiving yards.
Nimitz's victory was their fifth straight at home (dating back to last season), bumping their overall record up to 8-1. Those good results were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 38.2 points per game. As for Dekaney, their win bumped their record up to 7-2.
Nimitz ended up a good deal behind Dekaney in their previous meeting back in November of 2022, losing 39-21. Can Nimitz avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
