Arbor View and Bishop Gorman are an even 4-4 against one another since March of 2015, but likely not for long. The Aggies will host the Gaels at 3:30 p.m. on Monday. Each of these teams will be fighting to keep a win streak alive as Arbor View comes in on three and Bishop Gorman on four.
On Friday, Arbor View earned a 7-2 victory over Duarte.
Audrey Melton spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered two runs (both of which were unearned) on four hits. She has been consistent for a while: she hasn't given up more than two walks in nine consecutive appearances.
At the plate, Malaya Tellis was incredible, getting on base in all four of her plate appearances with two triples, three RBI, and two runs. That's the most RBI she has posted since back in March. Madilyn Lowy was another key player, scoring two runs and stealing a base while going 1-for-3.
Arbor View hit smart and finished the game with only two strikeouts. They are 7-1 when they post two or more strikeouts.
Meanwhile, Bishop Gorman got the win against Silverado on Thursday by a conclusive 14-4. The Gaels might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won eight matchups by six runs or more this season.
GIANNA HORNYAK made a big impact while hitting and pitching. She looked comfortable on the mound, not allowing a single earned run and allowing only two hits over four innings pitched. HORNYAK was also big at the plate, scoring a run while going 1-for-1.
In other batting news, Bishop Gorman got a massive performance out of SAMANTHA LEFEVER, who fired off two home runs while going 2-for-5. Another player making a difference was BROOKLYN HICKS, who scored two runs and stole three bases while going 3-for-4.
Bishop Gorman's win was their third straight at home, which pushed their record up to 13-8-1. Those home victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 13.0 runs over those games. As for Arbor View, their win bumped their record up to 11-7.
Monday's game will be a test for both teams' pitchers. Arbor View hasn't had any issues making contact this season, having earned a batting average of .355. However, it's not like Bishop Gorman struggles in that department as they've averaged .339. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.
Arbor View suffered a grim 10-3 defeat to Bishop Gorman in their previous meeting back in May of 2024. Will the Aggies have more luck at home instead of on the road? Check back here after the action for a full breakdown and analysis of the contest.
