The Moore County Raiders and the McKenzie Rebels squared off in some playoff action on Friday, but sadly the Moore County Raiders had to settle for second. Moore County was just a hair shy of victory and fell 28-27 to McKenzie. Moore County's loss signaled the end of their 12-game winning streak.
Several Raiders players turned in solid performances, despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Dawson White, who threw for 185 yards and three touchdowns. White hasn't dropped below three passing touchdowns for three straight games. The team also got some help courtesy of Alex Copeland, who picked up 102 receiving yards and two touchdowns.
Moore County's loss dropped their record down to 12-1. As for McKenzie, they pushed their record up to 12-1 with that win, which was their 13th straight on the road dating back to last season.
Moore County does not have any more games scheduled as of now. McKenzie will be playing in front of their home fans against Dresden at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Dresden knows how to get points on the board -- the team has finished with flashy point totals in its past seven contests -- so hopefully McKenzie likes a good challenge.
