This season hasn't been kind to the Classical Prep Lions, who are still winless after their fourth matchup. They had to suffer through a rough 62-21 loss at the hands of Bishop McLaughlin Catholic. Classical Prep lost against Bishop McLaughlin Catholic in their previous head to head back in January, too, but the margin this time around was much wider than the 65-30 score last time.
Bishop McLaughlin Catholic found their leader in underclassman Jake Mekdeci, who scored 13 points along with five steals. Those 13 points set a new season-high mark for Mekdeci. Another player making a difference was Christopher Bell, who scored eight points.
Classical Prep bumped their record down to 0-4 with that loss, which was their ninth straight at home dating back to last season. As for Bishop McLaughlin Catholic, their win bumped their record up to 2-5.
Classical Prep will look to defend their home court on Thursday against Indian Rocks Christian at 7:00 p.m. As for Bishop McLaughlin Catholic, they will head out on the road to face off against Seven Rivers Christian at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Hopefully Seven Rivers Christian focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 18 on Monday.
