When it comes to explaining why Union County lost, one person who can't be blamed is Keishawn Gibson. Despite the final result, he scored 17 points along with three steals. Gibson continues to roll, besting his previous point total in each of the last three games he's played. Nathan Koepke was another key contributor, scoring seven points.
Union County has been struggling recently, as they've lost five of their last six contests, which put a noticeable dent in their 5-12 record this season. As for Clinton, their victory bumped their record up to 6-7.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Union County's road trip will continue as they head out to face Chester at 7:30 p.m. on January 9th. The timing is sure in Chester's favor as the team sits on three straight wins at home while Union County has been banged up by six consecutive losses on the road. As for Clinton, they will challenge Columbia at 7:30 p.m. on Monday.
