The Black River Pirates lost against the Buckeye Bucks back in February of 2019, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Saturday. Black River took a hard 54-35 fall against Buckeye. Black River has not had much luck with Buckeye recently, as the team's come up short the last six times they've met.
Buckeye's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Tami Chovancova, who dropped a double-double on 16 points and 18 rebounds. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Chovancova has scored all season. Another player making a difference was Ruby Hudak, who dropped a double-double on 13 points and 13 rebounds.
Black River has traveled a rocky road recently having lost five of their last six matchups, which put a noticeable dent in their 9-12 record this season. As for Buckeye, their victory ended a nine-game drought at home dating back to last season and bumped them up to 2-20.
Black River will take on Oberlin at 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday. As for Buckeye, they will have some time to savor their victory since their next game is a little ways off: they'll take on Copley at 7:00 p.m. on February 21st.
