Two teams were on the hunt for playoff glory, but only First Baptist walked away with it. They enjoyed a cozy 55-39 victory over the Christian Heritage Sentinels on Friday. Given the Saints' advantage in MaxPreps' Texas basketball rankings (they are ranked 298th, while the Sentinels are ranked 872nd), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

First Baptist's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Meredith Quinn led the charge by dropping a double-double with 28 points and 15 boards. The team also got some help courtesy of Vittoria Steele, who posted ten points and seven rebounds.

First Baptist has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won 12 of their last 13 games. That's provided a nice bump to their 31-5 record this season. The wins came thanks in part to their defensive effort, having only surrendered 28.2 points on average over those games. Christian Heritage's loss dropped their record down to 23-10.

First Baptist wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next contest, a 45-37 win against San Jacinto Christian Academy on the 26th. Christian Heritage does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
