On Friday, everything went Wheatland's's way against Bear River as Wheatland made off with a 34-14 win. The result was nothing new for Wheatland, who have now won four games by 20 points or more so far this season.
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Wheatland to victory, but perhaps none more so than Trenton Bowens, who rushed for 127 yards and a touchdown on only 14 carries. Brayden Zozaya was in the mix as well, providing Wheatland with two touchdowns.
Wheatland's win bumped their record up to 7-1-1. As for Bear River, they have traveled a rocky road recently, as they've lost four of their last five contests, which put a noticeable dent in their 3-6 record this season.
Wheatland will look to defend their home field on Friday against Sutter at 5:15 p.m. As for Bear River, they will head out on the road to face off against Colfax at 5:15 p.m. on Friday. Colfax comes in on a streak of failing to score more than eight points in their last five games, a trend the squad is of course eager to reverse.
