Walton gave their fans exactly what they wanted out of a home opener on Friday. They blew past the Marianna Bulldogs 33-6. The matchup was pretty much decided by the half, when the score had already reached 26-0.
Walton didn't go easy on the quarterback and picked off three passes before the game was over. It was truly a group effort as Trace Lindsey, Tristian Powell, and Aaden Thomas picked up one apiece. Lindsey got in on the action too, converting a pick into a touchdown.
Walton and Marianna will both get a bit of extra prep time before their next games. The next time the Braves see the field they'll take on Holmes County at 7:00 p.m. on September 5. As for Marianna, their break will end when they face Maclay at 7:00 p.m. on September 5.
