The Rogers Rams will square off against the Sumner Spartans at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Expect the scorekeeper to be kept busy: if their previous games are any indication, these teams will really light up the scoreboard.
As a matter of fact, Rogers put up the most runs they have all season on Monday. They put the hurt on Curtis with a sharp 20-4 victory. With that win, the Rams brought their scoring average up to 7.8 runs per game.

Sierra Murray (2028) was a major factor while hitting and pitching. She struck out six batters over two innings while giving up no earned runs or hits (and not a single walk). She has been nothing but reliable on the mound: she hasn't tossed less than five strikeouts any time she's pitched this season. She was also big at the plate, going 2-for-3 with one home run, four RBI, and two runs. Those runs marked the first that she has scored this season.
Rogers kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 17 hits. That's the most hits they've posted since back in April of 2025.
The home team had won the previous four meetings between Sumner and Emerald Ridge, and Sumner kept the tradition alive. The Spartans came out on top against the Jaguars by a score of 10-5 on Monday.
Josslyn Sorensen spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered four earned (and one unearned) runs on six hits and racked up nine Ks.
At the plate, Sumner got a massive performance out of Riley Meyers, who got on base in all four of her plate appearances with two runs, two doubles, and two RBI. Those two doubles gave Meyers a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Natalie Korschinowski, who went 2-for-4 with one home run and two RBI.
Sumner's victory bumped their record up to 2-0. As for Rogers, the win got them back to even at 2-2.
Rogers skirted past Sumner 3-2 in their previous meeting back in May of 2025. Will the Rams repeat their success, or do the Spartans have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
