Red Bluff is headed in fresh off scoring the most runs they have all season. Everything went their way against Enterprise on Tuesday as they made off with a 16-2 victory. With that win, the Spartans brought their scoring average up to 6.3 runs per game.
Natalie Newport made a big impact while hitting and pitching. She looked comfortable on the mound, pitching five innings while giving up just one earned (and one unearned) run off four hits. Newport was also stellar in the batter's box, scoring three runs while going 3-for-4. That's the most runs she has posted since back in May of 2024.
In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Ashlinn Tucker, who scored three runs while going 3-for-3. Those three runs gave her a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Ariana Calderon, who scored two runs while going 2-for-3.
Red Bluff was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .581. They are a perfect 4-0 when they post a batting average of .375 or better.
Meanwhile, Pleasant Valley waltzed into their game on Monday with two straight wins... but they left with three. They put the hurt on the Hornets with a sharp 14-2 victory. That looming 14-2 mark stands out as the most commanding margin for the Vikings yet this season.
Alissa Snipes made a splash no matter where she played. She struck out six batters over two innings while giving up no earned runs or hits (and not a single walk). She has been consistent recently: she hasn't tossed less than six strikeouts in three consecutive appearances. She was also big at the plate, scoring two runs and stealing three bases while going 2-for-2. Those stolen bases marked the first that she snagged this season.
In other batting news, Elyse Hayes was incredible, going a perfect 3-for-3 with five RBI, two runs, and one double. That double marked the first that she hit this season. Another player making a difference was Carisma Ta'Amai, who scored two runs and stole two bases while going 1-for-2.
Pleasant Valley's win was their third straight at home, which pushed their record up to 8-5-1. The home victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 8.7 runs over those games. As for Red Bluff, the win snapped their losing streak at three games and leaves them with a 7-4 record.
Pleasant Valley's pitching crew has a crucial task ahead of them: Red Bluff hasn't had any issues making contact this season, having earned a batting average of .321. It's a different story for Pleasant Valley, though, as they've only averaged .250. Will they be able to contain Red Bluff's hitters?
