The Wilson Central Wildcats are taking a road trip to square off against the Oakland Patriots at 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Wilson Central is coming into the contest hot, having won their last five games.
While Wilson Central's victory against Lebanon wasn't quite the blowout it was the last time the pair played, they still came out on top. The Wildcats narrowly escaped with a win as the squad sidled past the Blue Devils 16-15.

Adelynn Perry was a standout: she got on base in four of her six plate appearances with two runs, one stolen base, and one RBI. She is on a roll when it comes to stolen bases, as she's now snagged at least one in each of the last three games she's played. Another player making a difference was Jordin Atkins, who went 1-for-4 with two runs and two RBI.
Wilson Central kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 14 hits. They are a perfect 13-0 when they post 11 or more hits.
Meanwhile, Oakland entered their tilt with Riverdale on Tuesday with three consecutive wins, and they'll enter their next game with four. They came out on top against the Warriors by a score of 6-3.
Jazmyne Watkins was incredible, going 1-for-3 with one home run, two runs, and one stolen base. Jada Ellison was another key player, going 2-for-4 with two stolen bases and two runs.
Oakland pushed their record up to 20-4-2 with the victory, which was their seventh straight on the road. Those road wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.9 runs on average over those games. As for Wilson Central, their record is now 21-10.
Wednesday's match will be a test for both teams' pitchers. Wilson Central hasn't had any issues making contact this season, having earned a batting average of .342. However, it's not like Oakland struggles in that department as they've averaged .360. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.
Wilson Central came up short against Oakland when the teams last played back in April of 2023, falling 7-2. Can the Wildcats avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
